And yet the folks designing roadways insist on limiting turn options, (typically forcing a right turn) forcing more folks to make U-turns without providing a safe place to make the U-turn–exactly what the original question-writer experienced.
The roadway designers are complicit in the collisions due to defective “workmanship” on their part–failing to provide a place or a means to allow traffic to U-turn after a forced right turn.
