Panther Post: Lima bean project

First grade teacher, Jenny Corbin has been busy with her students this spring. Her first graders wrapped lima beans up in wet paper towels, put them into a baggie, and hung them in the window. For about three weeks, the students were able to see how they grew, starting with roots forming first. The students wrote in a journal about what they saw with their own seed, by writing and illustrating. When students were able to take the seeds home, many of them continued the experiment and some grew so tall that they grew out of the baggie and others planted them in soil at home! Continue Reading
