Mitzel is trying to deflect attention from his recent DUI with this non-issue. Students generally are not all about writing up patent applications. In fact, I wonder if it’s ever come up in the real world that a student has been denyed a patent. This might be one huge red herring that Mitzel is milking for all it’s worth.

First off, Mitzel never got a DUI. Get your facts straight before you start criticizing.
Second, how else would you like a candidate to behave? This is his second letter on the topic and he’s facing off against a University administrator (as a student). It’s an issue that effects his constituents and he’s saying he’s going to change it. What’s bad about that?

Pardon me, he got arrested for underage drinking. Either way it shows a lack of good judgement.
