I see no reason why there should be any tax payer funds made available for professional sports. It is a private for profit business.
Tax payers do not need to finance private businesses.

I tend to agree with you because I am not a fan of sports, however, I can see the other side of it too.
sports brings in tourism which means more money spent in our state. people who go to large sporting events spend money in local restaurants, and hotels.
