Rep: Bachmann uses term ‘tar baby’ to attack Obama’s energy policy; spokeswoman says quote not racial
April 19, 2012 at 12:12 pm in West Central Tribune
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) A spokeswoman says U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann wasn’t referring to race when she used the term “tar baby” to attack President Barack Obama’s energy policy.

I told you this women is an embarassment to Minnesota! Why even use such a term, what happened she ran out of the right words or did she slip with her racist tongue? When Bachman was in SC thinking she was really a Presidential candidate, she was giving her speech right under the Confederate flag! Bachman gave another speech to 3 teaparty members who managed to show up, it was truly a joke and they should have held their meeting in a closet!

I am calling it like I see it. It matters little to me whether the politican is male or female, the bottom line is this women has not only acted radical at times, but she lacks class and she lacks wisdom. Carl if this is your defense for Bachman then maybe some cutural diversity is in order?

Jimmy, this fits right in with his adoration of MB, she can do no wrong. And it also fits in with his total contempt of the POTUSA.
Might just be that he considers her intelligent, given his lack.
I’m just hoping that with the expansion of the 6th, there will be enough people who know her for the cretin she is, to finally get rid of her.

I am not the one holding a teaparty meeting for SC bigots, but I can assure you I could draw more then she did. If a closet is a lonely place, I wouldn’t know, but what I do know if your a fan of Bachman then there is probably room for one more fan in that closet!

For your information using the word tar baby is hardly appropriate for the conversation, and because the teaparty on different occassions has posted racist billboards, written slurs on the walls of townhall meetings, and handed out racist pamplets, it has people wondering. Now not all teaparty groups act like this, but unfortunately there are those that have. After Obama’s health reform was passed teaparty members outside the Capital spit on African American Dems, then threw stones. Later offices of Dems had their windows shot out, and someone cut a gas line at a house they thought belonged to a Dem, it was the wrong house! Bachman as well as Palin are teaparty members, and when either one uses terms like that, it catches peoples attention! Be politically correct, or stay out of public service!

Not true but if it makes you feel better.
Only racists see every comment made by a white person as being racist – it shows you mind has failed to move into this century, living in the past will get you no where Roger.
You ilk is so simple minded.

I find it somehow…telling…that once these WTC threads hit the “most read” column, that both the ‘thumb votes’ and the ‘hidden due to low ratings’ things seem to reverse from what is on the WTC pages.
Coincidence? Maybe not?

A story like this is just a fog screen to cover up the true discussion of what is ailing this country and the solutions that are necessary and sorely needed. If anything, attention has to be placed on the private sector to determine why jobs are not being created. Much emphasis has been placed on the public sector and union related activities which have remained steady but the private sector has not been given the assurance of what the future will be doing. Too many questions based on past legislation are having a detrimental effect on private companies – too much regulations, etc. Granting money to keep positions only maintains the status quo versus tax credits of $3,500 per employee hired against a $35,000+ employee will not create jobs.
Some of you posters have to put the headlines of this story in perspective of the times then and of now – think for yourself, not let the daily talking points memo do your thinking for you. .

Now, if Romney would just get off the stick and come up with some DETAILS on what his plan is to ‘take back America”?
Just more of the same crap we heard four years ago, right?

WESTBY you dare me? Are you feeling alright, or do you make a habit of threatening someone, whenever the facts point to the obvious? Bachman is a radical, whose views don’t fit the present era, and her poor showing as a Presidential candidate serves as proof. No one in the nation except for maybe the 6th district votes for her. On the subject of drawing more people then Bachman, I am confident if I was to I could probably run against her and beat her if I choose politics, especially after her failed Presidential run! With over 20yrs in law enforcement, as well as being a Vet, I could beat her, and Gingrich, another so called Christian with family values who messed around on his sickly wife. This guy is a hypocrite, and a liar, and Bachman is not far behind. The things she did not only turned voters off, but they question her so called Conservative values. Christians really, she asked Obama for his BC, and when he proved he was born in the US, Bachman was red faced and tried to candy coat her vindictive accusations. What really stunned some people is when she claimed the East coast hurricane was a message from God against the Whitehouse! Really people were killed and millions in dollars of damage was done!!Then when her comment cause an uproar, she claimed she was kidding? She then accused Obama of blackmailing BP after they caused the worst oil spill in US history, that damaged the ego system and cost many small businesses their lively hood. It wasn’t long before her campaign staff started bailing out like rats on a sinking ship! Elton you claim I hate, there must be something wrong with you buddy, there is a difference between calling someone out of their hypocritcal ways, and double standards, then outright hating and making threats, something some of the far right Conservatives do all too well. As far as hate, that is a very strong word, and before you accuse someone of hate, and being a liar, have the facts in hand! Of course if it makes you feel better living in your own parties fairytales, then knock yourself out! Oh and westby seek some treatment for your anger its obvious you have something against people who have some knowledge, remember knowledge can be a very powerful tool!

jimmy, if you are disagreeing with her policies, then your postings would have a legitimate and proper discourse. Too many of your posts are attacks on her character which only reflects hatred rather than discourse or disagreement.
As far as you beating her in the presidential primary, a law enforcement career and a veteran hisotry of experience would probably be of help but your demeanor in regards to her character would certain lose it for you.
Hey, many of the American people think President Obama(myself included) is a good person — many of us just think his policies, solutions, and decisions are not doing the job he promised and upon election said he would do. Jobs and the economy were of the utmost importance when he was inaugurated and he is just now getting around to it. Oh, that’s right, it’s election time.

Yeah, I remember when he invited members of congress to sit down and have a beer and a talk shortly after he was elected. Talk about a ‘babe in the woods innocent’! Almost reminded me of Jimmy Stewart’s character in “Mr Smith Goes to Washington”. Complete idealist. Too much faith in people and what’s right?
Guess we’ll see what happens in November.

bac, the beer summit was with the professor and the policeman. President Obama and Congress have never gotten together, and if they did, they would be eating arugula salad and caviar. ;<)

Nah, this wasn’t the ‘beer summit’, it was when he invited all the members up for some kind of get-together to hopefully get to know him and him them.
The ‘Beer Summit’ came later.

Please excuse me for going off-topic, but I have a question or two…
Just what is the ratio of up/down thumbs that determine if a post is ‘hidden’ or not?
And, do the words, ‘liar’, ‘bigot’, ‘ilk’, ‘hater’, or anything along those lines have anything to do with it?
Just curious.

bac, a few weeks after the Pres was inaugurated, Michelle and he invited a few friends and select members of Congress to view a 3-D movie at the WH.. Maybe they did serve beer but I rather doubt it.
As to inviting all members of Congress, one cannot forget the several televised discussion meetings when the discussions would come to a conclusion with the words “I won”. Maybe you have forgotten.

Sorry to attack an election officials character, but there are times you call it as you see it. The information I pointed out was true, and for a politician who get free healthcare, free retirement then want the average working person to tighten their belts its hypocrisy at its finest. Then she uses Religion, and stands by the teaparty members in SC, who say derogatory and demeaning things about the president, it deserves to be answered, and maybe there are a few who don’t like it, well I am sorry, but I don’t turn the other cheek, and as a person who has my own opinion I base my comments on facts. There is no place for racisim, false accusations, and Religion in the political mainstream, but unfortunately it happens all the time. Being called a liar is a personal attack but you failed to mention that bob?
