I find it sad that our government has created agencies and not given them the freedom to provide what is best for it’s people. Just because 3M’s proposal is technically adequate, doesn’t mean that it’s the right thing to do. 3M wants to burn outside hazardous waste purely for corporate greed. Cottage Grove will see no benefits, but it’s citizens will be the one’s to suffer the long term effects.

I asked when the last environmental impact analysis was done and received the following response: The facility conducted a risk assessment in 2004 that fully complied with federal guidance. Additional studies were not required under either state or federal law. The MPCA is not aware of any other studies.
