Complying with GOP mandates to reduce spending, the House Agricultural Committee voted on Wednesday to cut $33 billion over 10 years to the nation’s cornerstone nutrition program. Continue Reading

“North Dakota Republican Rep. Rick Berg praised the Ag Committee’s plan because “not one penny” was taken away from production agriculture programs … “
This is another example of why the Republican party does not deserve to be called conservative. You cannot say you are in favor of free markets then turn around & brag about how your party maintained funding for a program that is anything but. Not to mention the blatant hypocrisy. Berg is advocating taking money away from people who buy & large don’t agree with him & giving it to those that do. If he had encouraged members of the committee to take from both sides he might have been accused of leadership.

Berg needs to borrow either Earl’s, Byron’s or Gaylord’s flannel shirt for his upcoming ads. Those three only need suits now for their DC consulting positions.

Why shouldn’t defense be cut one penny?
We got out of an extremely expensive war in Iraq, we are moving out in Afghanistan and yet for some reason we aren’t supposed to cut spending a single penny?
Would a couple of you who so love everything the Republicans do ezplain that to me please?

SNAP should be cut, and cut to -0-. Nothing. Nada. Zip.
Let private charity support “hard-working” folks who somehow can’t manage to feed themselves.
I’ve seen what goes on with the Food Stamp Game first-hand. Generation after generation of system-milkers. Folks buying luxury items and paying with money taken from taxpayers.
The unethical behavior of SNAP recipients is the stuff nightmares are made of.
46.5 million recipients each month? First Guess: 40 million deadbeats, 6.5 million actually deserving. Private charity can easily accommodate those that actually deserve charity. The remainder will then have an incentive to get jobs and control their breeding.

I hope for your sake that you will never lose your job and have to ask for help to buy food. If you do, you might be singing a very different tune about all of this.
