I want to start out this letter to thank everyone who has been so supportive of my candidacy to seek the bid of the DFL endorsement for the seat held by Rep. Rod Hamilton. Continue Reading

Awww, give the guy some credit! He may not have the most extensive resume, but at least he’s doing something, taking an interest in local politics and wanting to improve things. And he shows enthusiasm! You have to admit, Camalla, that we need change. Maybe this enthusiasm will rub off on others and spur them to enter these races, and boot out the ineffectual commissioners we have now. He’s to be admired, not vilified.

The haters will hate.
I commend this young man’s enthusiasm. He doesn’t want to sit around watching things happen, he wants to be an active part of if.
Jacob, I’d like to hear your ideas.

I would like to address Camalla. I appreciate your feedback, even though it is a rather harsh form of criticism. I realize this isn’t high school. As for inexperience I have ALWAYS been active in the communities I have lived in. I was the youngest person elected to serve on my churches council. I have been active politically since I was in the 5th grade. I work on get out the vote projects. Yes I may not have any community elected experience, but one must start somewhere. I’m sad to see the way our state and county has been going down the tube lately, I am absolutely sick of sitting on the sidelines watching the state I love and the county that I call me home go to pot. As for real world experience, I have watched my mother go through the ravages of a heart attack and stage three breast cancer, I have seen people suffer and it breaks my heart that there are not the community resources there should be for them. I serve on the Nobles County Health and Human Services Advisory Committee, I know how people are suffering. I am not in this for me, I’m in it for the people who need help and I hope you now see that. This county and the county commissioners have been letting the now fired/ retired county administrator do all the work. It is the commissioners job to do the work. So though I do disagree with your opinion of me with my whole heart I respect your opinion. Thank you. -Jake

I apologize for my criticism of you. I very much appreciate your commentary and I need to say I thought that was very cool. You won me over and I like your straight forward honesty.
