“Baseball/softball field summer rental rates according to teams: church league, $100; VFW and American Legion, $250; WABA, $250; Cubs, $500″—–This is absolutey ridiculous!! You DO know it’s PER TEAM, not just $250 for Wayba, or VFW or Legion..The baseball program in this town has been left for dead. No one wants to support the programs anymore. Go to Luverne, Pipestone, Windom, etc. They have HUGE support for their baseball programs. Here, they can’t even host a WAYBA tournament because of the lack of funds, and community support. I’ve also heard that the YMCA will not be offering a youth baseball program this summer. We can spend a ridiculous amount of money on tennis courts, but they can’t help out the baseball players. C’mon Worthington businesses, schools, etc. where’s your home team pride when it comes to baseball. When I was younger and played through the YMCA we had numerous, business supported teams, Lundgrens, Rickbeils, Martin Oil, Co-op Oil, Daily Globe, etc. Please, help support these baseball teams… Heck, they have to pay to play, even though I believe it’s the WAYBA people that do all of the field maintenance also, wow, what a bargain our teams are getting.

Well I see by by the number of “dislike” votes over the likes, there are a few people in town who don’t really care about programs for kids during the summer, pretty sad.
