Grand Forks schools see rise of children with autism

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said last week that an estimated one in 88 U.S. children and teens have a disorder on the autism spectrum. That’s roughly a million children and teens. The Grand Forks School District, too, has seen a rise in the number of children with autism, with 76 out of 6,823 enrolled students falling into that category, according to Tori Johnson, the district’s director of special education. That’s about one in 90. Continue Reading

“Grand Forks has the best special education in the country — quite probably the finest in the world.”
I’m glad you have had a great experience. We, however, have had one horror after another.

educate before you vaccinate. your babies thru age 5 are expected to get at least 39 vaccinations, some in multiples. no autism in Amish, they do not vaccinate. don’t even get me started on guardasil, so much risk for no PROVEN benefits.

I know there is a form that parents can complete and submit that gives them a right to opt out of immunizations for their children, but the public school system is requiring so many immunizations in order for even middle school students to enroll. If a parent had their children immunized but has since learned about all of the health problems occurring in people because of immunizations, which reason do they select on the form? I have found that there are some Biblical reasons not to immunize so my reason would be religious, however, since it was much later in my children’s lives I’m almost afraid that I would be denied my right to opt my children out of immunizations. What do I do in that case? Any suggesions?
I’m almost positive that child protection agencies are being informed about those who opt out of immunizing their children and I foresee that one day it would be construed as either “abuse” or “neglect”. Just another way the government is controlling a parents right to do what is best for their children.

I believe that our foods are also impacting not only the physical health, but mental health of individuals too. All of the genetically modified and hormone-induced animals and foods are not good for human consumption. People should be given more of a choice, but organic foods are so much more expensive. They should be priced the same as processed foods. With the price being so high, we really don’t have a choice. I know many families who would love to use organic foods in their meals, but the higher price of such is the common complaint I hear from every one of them.
