Bridegroom “U,” Andy Arthaud, and bride “Q,” Olivia Kessel exchange vows before the priest, Riley Wittenberg, during a mock wedding ceremony Thursday, presented by the Trinity Elementary West kindergarten class. The first-ever ceremony, directed by class teacher, Chelsey Scherr, was held before students and parents in the gymnasium. Classmates served as the attendants, while the fifth-graders were the ushers and served punch. We may soon see real marriages that young in ND. Measure #3 basically says the state will bend over backwards to accomodate religious beliefs. More than a few places in the world have religious beliefs that include marrying children.
