“the very essence of free speech, and that’s what’s at stake here”—another blast of bluster from those who wish to KIL ND. Surely anyone who has paid attention knows that there are sensible limits to “free speech.” By passing the Corrupt Practices Act not long ago, the ND Legislature ostensibly recognized that it was illegitimate for government officials and their cronies to use taxpayer money to fight the people of the state and their initiated Measure Two. In a maneuver worthy of Eric Holder, an in-the-tank judge has ruled for the rulers and refused to prosecute where prosecution is due.
