Autism cases are on the rise again, largely due to wider screening and better diagnosis, federal health officials said Thursday. The rate of U.S. cases of autism and related disorders rose to about 1 in 88 children. The previous estimate was 1 in 110. Continue Reading

“”How you go looking for something is going to affect what you find,” he said.”
“diagnosis is not an exact science. It’s identified by making judgments about a child’s behavior.”
“the definition of the disorder has gradually expanded, so that now “autism” is also shorthand for a group of milder, related conditions”

When researchers WANT to find Autism, they’ll find it. May not be real. May have highly inflated numbers due to clouded “judgement” of the child’s actions and abilities.
As long as there’s money to be had from the Feds and various charities, the number of “autistic” kids will continue to increase.

one word- vaccines. do you even know how many vaccines your newborn is injected with? so much poison, and it continues as they reach school age. why so many at one time? this is why Amish do NOT have autism

The Amish do vaccinate and they also have autism in their communities. I am guessing that some of the Aspergers type kids are more accepted in th Amish social structure and so do not stand out as much as they do in our culture. I think that we are just diagnosing more, there probably isn’t any more incidence than there always has been. In some of the milder cases, I sometimes wonder if being labeled as autistic is more damaging than the symptoms are, especially if there are no real beneficial therapies for those mild cases. Hard to say. I supposed it varies from individual to individual.
