Go ahead and put this crap in your body for some short term gain in “performance”. Snake Oil salesman have nothing on the GNC’s and Total Nutrition’s of the world.
Even Multi-vitamins have been shown to be a total farce. Eat healthy and exercise. There is no shortcut to health.

Wait People! I have a revolutionary, magical and guaranteed weight loss and stamina plan for you! Simply cut the treats, sweets and junk out; eat healthier food in moderation; and get about an hour’s excercise each day. Sheesh, folks, c’mon. All the potions, powders and pills will do you no good, unless you change some basic habits. Not to mention if we really know what’s in these expensive, so called miracle products. And, by the way, the woman who lost that weight would have lost the same weight in about the same time, by exercising and eating healthier foods in moderation. There, your fixed — now send me the $50.00 you would have spent at the ‘Health & Nutrition’ store.

Nathan, I am not sure what you are saying…all supplements are junk? -or- Just supplements not sold by GNC? You’re confusing and kind of sound like you work at either GNC or Total Nutrition. Either way, you are not being very helpful. I personally have lowered my cholesterol using supplements. The doctor wanted to put me on costly cholesterol medication (statin) and after only 60 days of taking Red Yeast Rice, my cholesterol went from 264 (Very High) to 153 (Borderline High). I have also used a variety of supplements to help me lose weight. Supplements do work. You have to take them correctly.
Jamesen, I agree that watching what you eat and exercise helps, but supplements can help you have the energy to get to the gym and cut appetite to help not overdue it on the junk food.
Just my 2 cents.

Can you find a single product on a shelf that may/may not actually have a benefit to yourself? Sure.
However, it is surrounded by thousands of “snake oil” products, or unhealthy products.
So, your cholesterol went down. Glad to hear Thomas. Did your Dr tell you that one single lab number is the true indicator of your health? How is your kidney’s functioning after taking the red yeast rice? All I had to do was a simple google search, and in 2007 the FDA warned against using the product because of its dangers. To this day, the FDA strongly cautions against it’s use, and is continuing to try to remove it from the market. But since the product is “herbal”, they have not been able to do so.

The FDA also issued a warning press release (see Further Reading; FDA 2007). The crux of the release was that consumers should “…not buy or eat red yeast rice products…may contain an unauthorized drug that could be harmful to health.” The rationale for “…harmful to health…” was that consumers might not understand that the dangers of monacolin-containing red yeast rice might be the same as those of prescription statin drugs. “per wiki”
Good luck : )

Just to take my 1 lab number point slightly further, in an attempt at humor.
My next door neighbor went to the doctor and was told that he needed to loose weight. He didn’t eat or drink anything for 7 days. He lost 20 pounds!
And is the fittest dead guy that I have ever known.
