Age discrimation more than anything else.
These days, anyone who’s been out of work for more than six months is more than likely to be 45+. And, almost none of those people are likely to be hired anywhere, mostly due to the higher health insurance costs.
Never mind that that group has skills that might be important to a business, it’s the costs, plain and simple.
