Then we have the other side of the coin, namely presidential candidate Mitt Romney ““Unless there’s a valid, legitimate and compelling public purpose, I don’t know why the government owns so much of this land,” or Rick Santorum “The federal government doesn’t care about this land. They don’t live here, they don’t care about it. We don’t care about it in Washington. It’s flyover country for most of the bureaucrats in Washington, D.C.” For those of us who love the Apostle islands and all they represent, Mr. Romney and Mr. Santorum don’t seem to understand.

Hey, thumbs down folks. That’s what they said recently during the campaigns. Sorry you disagree and appear to want to get rid of federal ownership of land like the islands.
