If the current county commissioners intend to keep their jobs and stay as our commissioners, I feel that they need to do something about Mel Ruppert! Who do they think the public is going to support?? An overpaid administrator with commissioners who have his back regardless of what he does, or are friends/neighbors who are volunteer firemen & women? Hats off to Sheriff Wilkening and our local fire chiefs for stepping up and saying something!

Just wanted to say thanks to Sheriff Wilkening, the Fire Chiefs and the Worthington Daily Globe for a well written and informative article. They are absolutely correct in requesting the EM Director be moved to Prairie Justice Center and placed under the Sheriffs direction. It was obvious by the statements made in the article that our Sherriff and county Fire Cheifs had a good working relationship with the past EM Directors. l don’t know how much more our County Commissioners need to hear before they will do their jobs and remove Mel Ruppert from his position, but as a concerned Nobles County resident I urge everyone to call our Commissioners and voice your opinion.
