Great event for a great cause but the drunks will be everywhere. I will stay away.

I still bet that no businesses, specifically the bars, donate any money to the run’s cause. Especially the Fort, where there the run starts. I know they donate none of their money to the Run. I think every bar that is along the path should be willing to donate a percentage of their earnings to the cause of the Run and show their contributions by posting it clearly in their windows during the event. I also think it’s pathetic that they do not do this already. What a disgrace to our community.

David raises a good point. The organizers for the run should ask all the bars that are on the official list (nine this year) that they must donate a percentage of their proceeding that day or they will not be included officially in the run. I would say 10% would be great, but even 1% from each bar would be a huge boost. The bars could then proudly display how much they intend to donate. Also, I know the organizers and others would prefer that everyone who participates preregister but of the over 2200 who did, there were probably that many or more who didn’t. So what better way to get all the non registered people to also have some of their money go towards a good cause. Please implement this policy next year in order to help with this city’s reputation.
