New conservative group formed in Grand Forks

Conservatives in Grand Forks are forming a new group, distinct from the tea party group already in place in the area since about two years ago. Continue Reading

First the Tea Party forms because the entrenched Republicans won’t bow down to them and give them what they want.
Then the local Tea Party Franchise is held by someone outside of town? So now the Tea Party people in Grand Forks have to form another group.
It seems the only thing consistent is that Republicans in all their flavors won’t abandon the political boss form of Party for a Party controlled by the people.

The local tea party is neede to counter act the Grand Forks business community and Congressional delegation who will be crying and pleading not to close the air base. I can hardly wait to see them protest the wastefull government spending that happens right here in North Dakota, which is a welfare state feeding off the tax dollars of the rest of the country. Or will the local tea party think all the tax dollars spent in their back yard well spend and richly deserved. I’m betting on the latter.

The organizers bent over backward to disassociate themselves from the tea party, i. e. they don’t endorse, etc., but then Shafer gives it all away by calling it a tea party meeting. They will all go the way of the fringe parties. I happened to be in Culver’s when the tea party coalition had a big meeting there and I counted 8 people including the speaker. But then everybody has a right to organize a party. I wish them luck with getting their extreme agenda accepted by the majority.
