I am glad this finally made the news. I have lived in Grand Forks almost all my life. I know in fact that spot has been vacant for years since Domino’s moved out of there. I thought at first glance maybe I was wrong about what the store. However, when I looked up the stores own website I was shocked. Being a mother that has walked past that corner alot both as a kid and an adult I was concerned. I have daughters that are exposed to enough sexuality in the media. I also know kids are smarter than alot adults think they are. I started a word of mouth chain telling whoever I talked to the with to be sure and check the stores website to understand what I was talking about. I wanted to make sure as many parents knew about it. I wrote to the city website where they ask you to write about your concerns. I would have talked about it on camera. I think, in my opinion, someone was hoping that it would slip through parents attentions.How can one have “misconception” about a place when they see the information that the store itself presents? “There’s a lot riding on it, there’s lawsuits and money, city council member Eliot Glassheim said.” Well how much is a childs innocence worth? As a parent I put high value on the innocence of kids around me. Question is how much do other people and parents do.
