The dental payment rate for medicaid and medicare is a joke. The reason there is such a limit on dentists that accept either and those that do have to limit numbers is they lose money on providing services. I know of one case where a person needed extensive work running into few thousand $$$. Rather than bill medicare the dentist who finally agreed to take the case did the entire job no charge. It was better finance wise to do the work and write it off than the meager payment he could have gotten from medicaid. And no I am not a dentist, married to a dentist or work in the dential industry.

Maybe dentists should be forced to provide dental services for free. It’s too bad slavery isn’t legal yet, eh?
We’ll just have to wait until after Obama gets reelected.
