Recall elections likely in early June; snow bearing down on Madison, Milwaukee; bill would pay more to those wrongly convicted; more briefs

The expected recall elections against Gov. Scott Walker and others will likely take place in early June. Also, heavy snow is forecast later today for a large area of southeastern Wisconsin, plus more state news. Continue Reading

Verify the Recall is getting close to posting an online searchable data base of recall Walker signatures. Since the volunteers have not finished entering names, general findings are reported. My understanding is each page was entered multiple times by different volunteers to reduce data entry errors. Story reported on the McIver website:

And then there is the guy who has been charged with forging signatures, even of a dead man, on a WI Senate recall petition. And wow, the max punishment is 50 yrs in jail and $90,000 fine.

Politifact is suspect ever since they claimed Obamacare care was just like buying car insurance. Except, if a person doesn’t own a car, is he/she legally required to buy auto insurance? NO. So now I choose to look at Politifact as “mostly false” when viewing any of their material.
What is a Democrat going to promise in a a recall election? Spend more on entitlement programs? Falk has already promised she will hold the next state budget hostage if Act 10 is not repealed. For the first time in 15 years, the upcoming 2013 budget is NOT debt heavy with IOUs that have to be dealt with or pushed down the road. Walker and the Republicans had the courage to deal with the problems.
Are you aware under Doyle and Thompson the state bond rating sank to the lowest possible? The only reason it didn’t fall below AA is that the state can raise taxes to pay its debts. A low bond rating affects business in this state and costs taxpayers more money in higher interest rates on borrowed money.
Walker’s not the “perfect” politician, so name me the “perfect” Democrat that will keep the budget under control, encourage business, and encourage people to work for a living (as opposed to taking the easy road and living off government welfare.)

hmmm,
mining jobs in WI are being stopped by Democrat state legislators with their opposition to a bill defining the permitting process. So Alice, how are the Dems standing up for the middle and lower class by stopping good paying jobs (many of them union)?
from the WI Mining Assoc website:
“Despite the fact that Wisconsin is home to one of the largest known iron deposits in the world, all iron mining in the United States now occurs in Minnesota and Michigan, benefitting their states and their workers to the tune of more than $12 billion a year.
In the past year, potential mining investors took a hard look at developing the massive iron ore deposits in Iron and Ashland Counties. Their research indicated that the construction and operation of a mine in the area would generate thousands of jobs and hundreds of millions of dollars in taxes for state and local governments. They also noted, however, that Wisconsin’s mining laws did not recognize the difference between ferrous and sulfide mining and have expressed concern that Wisconsin’s lack of a scientifically appropriate and economically competitive environment may make investments in Minnesota and/or Michigan a wiser choice.”

I’m trying to figure out why a politician ASKING the GAB to look at possible inaccurate signatures is so….wrong. And I’m wondering why you are so opposed to independent groups going to court to force a governmental unit to consider their data. (and remember, the court has access to the actual petitions, so it’s not like an evironmental lawsuit where it’s “expert” vs. “expert”.)
FYI…the Democrats have a proven ability to twist the truth and create media hysteria…so your “news articles” and their allegations are suspect. The latest, big example, of Democrat lies and hysteria involves Sandra Fluke, who claimed to be 23 but revealed she is actually 30 and an activist who intentionally decided to attend Georgetown after realizing Georgetown’s insurance policy didn’t cover birth control. What a surprise…a Catholic U following church policy. But we need to get twisted up over birth control instead of the more important things like jobs and national debt.
How about real info, Alice…
Who is the “best” Democrat to replace Walker?
What does that person promise that will bring jobs to WI and control government spending?

BTW Alice, Nice try.
However, in his filing with the Government Accountability Board, Walker only refers to the two Wisconsin Tea Party groups when describing the Verify the Recall effort — the Houston-based “True the Vote” is not mentioned.

Alice, I’m not saying any of those things. I’m saying when you have something worth adding to the discussion I’ll listen. Tea Party KS Patriots….so what? Why focus on them while ignoring ACORN, Union upon Union, Soros’s Move On, Daily KOS, Occupy whatever, Maher, Michael Moore, MSNBC, or any other left-wing hate group that funds and pushes dem causes? There are groups on both the right and left that push their agenda in ways that maybe aren’t attractive to their candidate. Show me where Walker has a direct hand in TPKSP and then you’ll be worth hearing.

Read it again Alice, and not just the headline. This was cut from the link YOU provided.

Good grief-how old are you…really…guilt by association…that’s all you’ve got???
if you search “guilt by association”, wikipedia comes up with: “An association fallacy is an inductive informal fallacy of the type hasty generalization or red herring which asserts that qualities of one thing are inherently qualities of another, merely by an irrelevant association. The two types are sometimes referred to as guilt by association and honor by association. Association fallacies are a special case of red herring, and can be based on an appeal to emotion….” grade-school stuff alice, but if that is your political scale I can hardly wait to provide truthful Obama associations the mainstream media conveniently ignores to watch your indignation.
Thanks for the chuckles, I get a kick out of your ability to read minds and interpret intent based on liberal media reporting,
And btw, Walker campaigned on fixing the budget problem, and the full extent of the budget problem wasn’t known until after he was elected. You maybe don’t agree with public employees having the golden benefits tarnished a bit, but they still have jobs.
keep us laughing, Verify the Recall has said they’ll release a searchable database late Wednesday.

Alice and her grass roots recall….too funny.

The almighty unions “fighting” for the worker in Wisconsin…um, really has nothing to do with the 11% union workers in the state does it Alice.
Of course…Alice will not roll out a litany of other reasons for recalling Walker which had absolutely nothing to do with this when it started. Of the things she brings up, every elected official regardless of party affiliation should be recalled for doing what they said they were going to do.
Progressives are insufferable people. Not happy unless everyone is miserable like them. How about the dems sticking their nose in the air to 800+ jobs that could have been created by the mining bill? You and I know why the dems shot it down….it would have made Walker look good. Truth is, democrats are politicians not because they want to make a difference…no, they want to live on the government teet as long as they can and think everyone should do the same.
