Shuttering post offices and mail processing centers across Minnesota, including the sorting center in Bemidji, could lead to the end of the U.S. Postal Service, Sen. Al Franken said Thursday. Continue Reading

The Republican plan to decimate the Post Office is working better than expected. The PO is the only business in America that has to pre-fund it’s employees retirement plans; a (successful, so far) result of GOP attacks on the fabric of America.
If the Post Office didn’t have to pre-fund the retirements, they’d have posted a profit in each of the recent years.
Strange how the Republicans aren’t owning up to their mischief; or retreating from their attacks on the working class.

The ‘bottom line’ on this whole USPS thing is the continuing, mounting losses and demise of union contributions to the Dem party.
If libs had their way we’d still be making buggy whips and rotary dial phones to save unions jobs.

Point blank they need to change with the times. Home mail delivery is a thing of the past. The generation going to college now does almost everything with cards, ebay, and the internet. Paper bills are a thing of the past. There is very little that I can’t pay online as of this point, or through my banking systems online pay portal.
To keep it around for junk mail and the paper form of spam advertising is a waste. Even a majority of my companies billing is done through email. If they can’t adapt to the change then need to go.. Period.
Ma Bell had to adapt and change to the current marketplace. If they had the protections/archaic structures in place that the postal service does, we’d all be stuck using a party line.
