I’ve always said that the tribes have bigger issues to deal with than the UND name issue. I think this is just an example of one issue. The name issue is at the bottom of the list of things the tribes need to address. That’s what SR has been saying all along. Although I appreciate SL effort it has come too late in the game. Maybe it’s time to let it go and take care of the health and wellbeing of the Native People. That should be the first priority.

I have to agree with John. There are so many problems endemic to the reservation, largely due to a lack of concern by the government, but the foster care system is a mess. Of course, ICWA, while well intentioned, didn’t provide the resources necessary to make it work.
