Why does North Dakota need anything from the federal government to exploit its lignite industry? Why can’t the state just do what it does considering it has tons of tax money coming in from oil development? The whole point of federal funds is to give a boost to industries that need it. You have convinced me we don’t need it and so Obama is correct to put federal resources elsewhere.

Coal is cheap and abundant. Of course the Government wants to regulate it out of existance. Whining and crying about emissions from coal-fired power plants assures that the masses are mentally prepared for the coming price increases for electricity.
You think the Government WANTS “we the people” to have ready access to cheap power?
