The first of two consecutive snowstorms dumped more than 6 inches of snow on Jamestown over the weekend, causing numerous accidents Sunday throughout the region. Continue Reading

maybe this is what they are waiting for, before they plow the streets in Jamestown? nice to see we are back to the old methods, waiting until every other city in the state has completed plowing before Jamestown even starts.

I didn’t think people were allowed to push snow onto city streets.

it’s different downtown. since there is no place to put snow, the businesses push the snow from the sidewalks into the street and the city removes it when they plow the streets. at least in theory.

All of you have to understand, this has been a really tough winter so far, the snow removal budget is really tight as it is, we can’t afford unwarranted snow removal. Expecting snow removal within 72 hours of the snowfall is just unheard of and no one in their right mind should expect it. Our leaders have their hands full with other projects, like the the rail loop project. We have to stop bothering them with little things like removing snow, the failing sewer system, no curbside recycling and not punishing Brad Vining for endangering our lives by storing oil, tires, and gasoline in residential areas. You have my full support JSDC. . . . excuse me, I meant to say city council, but then again you are basically all the same people anyway, it is easy to mix you two up.
Sarcasticly yours,
Lance Preston Wheeler

The citie’s attempt at snow removal should be classified as dereliction of duty. What a joke. Can I please have my tax dollars back since you obviously aren’t using it (for what it was intended)?

My gravel road was cleaned faster then the city streets. I cannot believe how bad they are and we only got a little over 6in of snow. WOW. Kuddos Jamestown for the extra effort of making phone calls to get the workers off the couch and into the trucks and snowblowers. If I was a city resident I know who wouldnt be getting my votes in the next election.

and now the City Engineer’s Office has issued a no travel advisory from 6 p.m. today through noon on Wednesday. I’m guessing they will enforce no travel by not plowing (until Friday).

I heard on the radio this morning that fargo has a rule in place that all city streets will be cleaned 24hrs after it snows. Is there someway of trying to get this enforced in Jamestown?
