Housley may move to run against Sieben
February 24, 2012 at 10:13 am in South Washington County Bulletin
Karin Housley is not ready to move on after a redistricting decision put her and Sen. Katie Sieben in separate legislative districts, preventing a rematch of their 2010 race. Instead, Housley may move in so she can challenge Sieben again. Continue Reading

Sounds like Sieben’s more than a little scared of Housley. Run Karin run! Maybe we’ll get somebody, anybody in there that won’t just rubber stamp everything the party wants.

I couldn’t disagree more. Senator Sieben has a solid record of achievement and works hard for the needs of her district. Housely ran a nasty campaign in 2010 and most likely would do the same in 2012. I say don’t bother.

I don’t care about what type of campaign anybody runs, its their voting record. Show me when she actually voted for common sense rather than the party line? I will become a supporter if she actually votes for her constituents and not just her party!

Agreed. Once elected they represent all of us, not just their party or those that voted for them.

Sounds to me like sour grapes. If Ms. Housley was going to win, it would have been 2010 … I suspect she will get trounced in a rematch with Katie. I also don’t think her angry politics, which she used last time, will play at all in 2012. Karin ran a really nasty campaign and I hope voters are sick of it and start to get turned off by this type of politics – from both sides. The party that won in 2010 took it as a referendum on their ideals and went way right. I don’t agree that policies should go extreme in either direction, and I think some of those gains by the GOP in 2010 will go back to the DFL. I hope I am right, but only because I want each side to understand it is time to start working together and that nobody has a referendum on their ideals.

The media has done too good of a job spinning everything for the two party’s and their loyal followers to find middle ground these days. We need a good old fashioned moderate with some common sense to help everybody sort through all the bull crap.
