Uninformed writer speaks of talking points handed to him by his masters. “the settlement announced this month by attorneys general in 49 states includes nearly $2.7 billion for state governments to spend as they wish.” This can be used to plug budget holes (multiple states are doing this, even those with Democratic Gov), set up programs (yeah, lets set up another unfunded government program) or any other number of ideas states can think of. The vast majority of the $25 billion is not going to the states, it is going to the homeoners who may or may not have been illegally foreclosed upon, a program set up through our federal government, not the state government.
