Alerus Center to save on financing of turf; UND agrees to pay more than half of $3.83 million cost

The Alerus Center will pay for the replacement of its artificial turf in one year instead of three, saving $99,850 in finance costs. The Events Center Commission has reached an agreement with UND for the university to provide $2 million of the cost of the facility’s new playing surface and related mechanical systems. So the Alerus didn’t go after Elton John because they were gun shy. If you can’t pull the trigger on Elton John there’s no hope for the Alerus.

Unfortunately, the Alerus Center was already booked for the date Elton John has in town… the Home & Garden Show. Same thing happened when the Alerus was offered the Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert and had to give that one to the Ralph.
