Great points. The Hockey program in Worthington has slipped. Maybe the parents, coaches and youth should be freezing the ice like we had to do throughout the 70′s and 80′s. the home team would have to shovel the ice between periods to skate the next period. There were good names in the association back then: Fitch, Brandt, Koppy and Flynn to mention a few. There were adults down there that did not even have kids that played that even helped out. Boy and when numbers climbed that we had to get another rink (outdoors) man were we excited! One thing you never heard was parents complaining about how much time they had to put in. Parents did it because that was something parents did back then. I remember sitting in the warming house on Sat. mornings with Tom Dunn and others wondering how the kids were going to get to Sleepy Eye that afternoon and we always made it.
Now they are to worried about time and there money; wondering why local business does not support them more, maybe because they do not support local business. i heard a story of a young man making a presentation to this so called board in regards to getting some shirts and sweatshirts made. Great presentation but they did not go with him. Decided to go with the company out of town for more money too.
Stupid is as Stupid Does!
Hot debate. What do you think?
