Good for Roberts bringing in businesses and jobs. Unlike New Richmond that wants to build a dog park. How does that help New Richmond?!

Flying J is a very good, national truck stop chain.
While I understand the NIMBY attitude, I want to point out that trucks deliver just about everything we consume…from food to TP to other stuff. Yes, product may take part of its journey via rail, but how many supermarkets or Wal-Marts have railroad tracks behind the store?
What people don’t understand is the federal regulations that have piled up for semi-drivers, and with mandated electronic recording devices drivers HAVE to stop when they are out of mandated work hours. There has been a severe shortage of safe parking areas (where a semi can legally be parked) and when rest areas are closed (like the eastbound Hudon RA was closed) the situation only gets worse.
If people want food or stuff, deal with the noise and pollution. Being on the road, not seeing family is very hard…at least give the drivers a break and provide decent parking areas and facilities where they can eat and shower.
