Column – Pre-existing condition? Check out PCIP
February 16, 2012 at 6:00 pm in Alexandria Echo Press
If you’ve ever had a bout with cancer, as I have, you know how virtually impossible it is to find an insurance plan that is even remotely affordable, unless you’re rolling in dough. And who is, these days? Continue Reading

Thank goodness. Its no wonder insurance companies have made record profits in previous years. If anyone really needed insurance they found a way to get rid of them.

… and now we will have Obama Care and health care rationing, especially as it pertains to the elderly. Bureaucrats are already making the decisions only physicians should make – like a treatment for a friend’s osteoporosis.
Hot debate. What do you think?

Anybody else notice that one of the concessions made to extend the (Social Security robbing) Payroll Tax Cut was another extension of the “Doc Fix” that was implemented after the passage of Obama Care? This was one of the items that conservatives brought up during the time where there should have been debates on the bill. One of the items that blows Obama’s “budget neutral” claim out of the water.

That’s right, and it won’t be too long before the Doc Fix thing just goes away forever. I know many physicians – some who are family members – who are already planning alternate careers.
Thanks, Barack!

Unless you’re a cash payer, bureaucrats already make health care decisions. Imagine how many more procedures would be denied if most elderly citizens only got the coverage that they could afford in the private health care market!
If you got the government out of health care a lot of nursing homes would be empty and old people would see ‘rationing’ far worse than any that Rep. Bachmann would claim with her ‘death panels’.

Looks like you are in favor of a dictatorship, bac. Just force everyone to obey the dictates of the ‘leader.’ Have you abandoned the United States Constitution? That would be so ‘Left’ of you.

By the way, bac, giving up the practice of medicine does not violate the Hippocratic Oath. The Oath applies to those in the practice who willfully “do harm.” How about if a physician simply retires – like a physician who is an officer in the Military?

I really have to wonder, sometimes, where some people attended school and how they ever graduated. The referenced paragraph reads as follows:
“I will remember that I remain a member of society, with special obligations to all my fellow human beings, those sound of mind and body as well as the infirm.”
Where does it say that a physician may not leave the practice of medicine? You and I are members of society too, bac, but neither of us is obligated to follow and/or continue in any profession.

It is sadly comical to witness the sorts of lame responses one can get from the Left when they find themselves cornered and out of substantive answers.

“sadly comical”?
Some of us find it just plain funny when posters who demand answers to ignorant questions just don’t get them.
Ignorant questions sound a lot like a ‘pre-existing condition’. Bro.

Hey, BRO!
You used flimsy data to support your equally flimsy assertion that the so-called ‘modern’ Hippocratic Oath prohibits a physician from leaving the practice of medicine. The quote you cited did not support your flimsy assertion in any way, shape or form.
The best you could come up with was ‘lol’ and ‘rotflmao’. Therein lies the comical part of your discourse, and that is really a sad testament to your ability to debate with the adults in the room. Using the lame tactics of Media Matters and some others shows weakness – not strength.
