Village board agrees to NHPD cuts

The daily minimum number of hours the Village of North Hudson will have protection by its own police department has dropped from the current 12 hours to 8.5 hours following a vote by the board of trustees last week. Continue Reading

Seems like if the people of North Hudson really wanted to lighten their property taxes a bit and give the village a newer friendlier image they would reduce the force down to only two officers [total]. I don’t live down there, but I do know better not to speed down Hwy 35. Which makes me think that that main revenue stream must be thoroughly dried up by now. With the conjestion at the rush hours is it even possible to speed anymore?

It is 3.5 hours less harassment that the residents of North Hudson and those passing through will have to face. The last serious crime in North Hudson came at the hands of an officer who illegally detained a man for an hour after he blew a 0.0 on a sobriety test.
The only thing the North Hudson police protect is the cash flowing in to the village treasury. DR I would fire them all. Certainly, the police in North Hudson can find something productive to do besides playing the role of the playground bully.

“but I do know better not to speed down Hwy 35.” Oh I forgot, highway 35 is the only road in the entire Village. So it’s OK to speed anywhere else? Apparently this persons own personal agenda is far more important than the silly speed limits. Always remember, if you don’t like the police, then next time a drunk driver is speeding down the only road in North Hudson (hwy 35) and bearing down on your family head on….call the fire department, they hardly ever get any complaints.
