Interesting conundrum. Which goes first, the cart or the horse? Looks like the School District would like this thorny issue of rezoning to be all wrapped up before the vote, but the City is not playing ball. In fact, it appears that this is more than just a rubber-stamp approval for the rezoning. It might actually not get passed! The City may decide it’s better to make more money via commercial development. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. If the referendum passes, and given the usual cozy relationship between the City and the School District, it would be strange to see the City then turn its back on the School District and refuse to rezone. Hmmmm.
