New fields: Former farmer, prof claims she’d bring fresh governing approach

Saying she has the right mix of life experience and experience in state government, Sen. Kathleen Vinehout, D-Alma, has announced she’ll run for governor in the anticipated recall election.

hmmm, what to think about Vinehout. Should I be a voter who accepts the spoon-fed info and focus group image presented of a candidate; or should I question (with boldness) what others want me to believe and arrive at my own opinion….hmmm, don’t know yet.
I do raise an eyebrow over this instance of personal decision making:

Governor material? She wants universal health care, so if you’re into giving government more control of your life, she’s your choice. Just remember, when the government pays the health care bill, at some point you will be told what to eat, how much to eat, and what you can’t eat.
At least she didn’t pull a Falk and agree to reject any budget bill that doesn’t repeal Act 10 (collective bargaining reform.) But I wonder how she’d deal with the budget, which is going to be in pretty good shape in 2013.

If 10 years of cleaning cows for milking qualifies someone to be governor, she has just made the case that Sheila Harsdorf should be our next elected Governor.

They’re already telling us we can eat. How about the state official in North Carolin who made a child eat chicken nuggets at school for lunch because she didn’t think the turkey breast sandwhich on wheat her mother sent her with was considered healthy. Fried chicken nuggets is healther than turkey breast? The school then sent the bag lunch home with child along with a bill for the school lunch. There should be no food police and they shouldn’t be telling people how to eat. If that turkey sandwich was a bag of doritos and a can of pop paid for with food stamps the govment would have no problem with that. Another wonderful policy bought by us courtesy of Obama.
