Elise Will gets prison in child abandonment

Judge Eric J. Lundell differed from the recommendations of the prosecution and handed down a prison sentence for Elise D’Lynn Will Thursday morning in a child abandonment conviction.
“The public should be put on notice this is not acceptable,” said Lundell and sentenced Will to three years in prison and seven years extended supervision.

Who are you? Only Elise would defend her own actions of criminal abandonment. I wonder what her daughter did when she was only 15 months old and was dropped on her head? What did she do when she was less than 2-years-old to cause Elise to abandon her and her husband to go live a new life in Madison? When she reunited with her mother, what did she do when she was only 9-years-old and got herself up for school, fed herself breakfast, made her lunch, and left for school without anyone speaking to her? Was her Mom busy working? Nope. Her mom was sleeping and couldn’t be bothered to get up and take care of her daughter. I wonder what it would feel like to be abused, abandoned, and ignored by your mother for 14 years. I don’t know…but I think I may rebel and not vacuum, do dishes, and clean my room. I would feel pretty sad, lonely, depressed, and hopeless. So sad that Elise had another baby girl that she didn’t know how to take care of. Even proponents of the “family bed” would agree that you do not put an infant in bed with you when you’ve admittedly consumed alcohol and are on prescription medicines. I think the prosecution had it right. I think the prosecution lives to get women like Elise away from society. I think Judge Lundrell is a brave man who is not afraid of his ruling being reversed. He did the right thing. The statute allowed him to impose a 10 year sentence and because she had been convicted of a previous felony, he had the latitude to add 6 years to the 10-year sentence. He cut her a break. She nows has a chance to participate in a rehabilitation program within prison that could allow her to apply for parole. She isn’t a victim. She is a perpetrator of the worst kind. She is emotionless and uncaring about her daughter. This girl didn’t wake up rebeling. She was born wanting to be loved and validated. Instead, she was abandoned, dismissed, ignored, and tormented by her mother. I pray for her and for the soul of that infant child that suffocated because of the negligence of her mother. She suffered and struggled to breathe while her mother slept on her. Foam came out of her mouth. She died under the weight of her intoxicated and medicated mother. This is the truth. The judge read the truth in the PSI. Educate yourself. Go to St. Croix County Sheriff’s department and read the police reports. Justice has been served.
