It’s already legal. I’m waiting for a lawsuit citing the equal protection clause of the constitution, that would force the state to allow the same types of gaming the Tribes already enjoy to be allowed everywhere.

Leave it be! Bring Vikings to Duluth but use the parks and rec. funds. That would be a way better use.

I am all for this. Karen Diver and the Native Americans need some competition. They have gone unchecked for way to long. They don’t want to help improve the streets, that their employees drive on, they don’t pay state taxes for license plates, and I’m not sure what, if any, taxes are paid by them. I would much rather my money go to improving the city of Duluth and the state of Minnesota than end up on the reservation lining their pockets.

Why couldn’t a Duluth casino also help pay for a stadium? An agreement where, say, 10% of net revenues went to a stadium somewhere in the state, and the balance went toward Duluth area (read arrowhead) infrastructure. No doubt this would scare the bejeebers out of FDL, but then again, they’ve already tipped their hand by refusing to honor their contract with the city of Duluth.
