The catholic bishops should be ashamed of themselves for their dishonesty and distortions.
There’s a simple fix for these issues: end all taxpayer support of “faith-based” organizations. Ending the ridiculous tax exemptions for religion wouldn’t hurt either.

…and of course, we know you won’t shut up solon. Once again, if you want to peddle your dogma at will, then give up the taxpayer money you are using to do it. Maybe use all those millions that the US Council of Catholic Bishops, and the Knights of Columbus are using to lobby in DC instead.

This has nothing to do with taxpayer money. All religious institutions, apart from an actual church, must pay for contraception and even abortion. Even if they get no federal money. This is a violation of the 1st amendment.

The really sickening aspect is that politicians who have been shouting loudest about the need for fidelity to the constitution — are also the ones yelling loudest in support of this clear instance of trying to violate it!
