She’s very happy now. She has had as many lavish free trips around the world as any first lady could possibly want during the Obama depression. She’s proud now of a country where her man can come up with those endless perks at the public expense. We’re supposed to feel sorry for her? I don’t think so.

I really wish things were getting better with the economy. What we have is Obama cooking the figures to make the unemployment numbers look good when they are in fact likely getting worse or, at best, not improving. It is quite amusing that you erroneously accuse me of hatred toward the Obamas, while launching into a tirade exhibiting your hatred for George Bush and the right. If Obama’s supposed successes could be measured in government spending we should be in an unprecedented boom, but of course we aren’t. The money is gone, Obama’s campaign account is boated. What a coincidence. At least Queen Michele is happy.

Cooking the numbers? We have free press here and independent reports. He does not have the ability to falsify these numbers. Sure the left and right my find interpretations, but don’t put that on our President’s back. You don’t sound as though you’ve had a single objective thought. Our President offers his feelings and you begin this attack on our First Lady? Seriously? Study a little history. Mrs. Obama has been a great ambassador for our country and wonderful role model within our country. Which is traditionally what many First Ladies have been.

Even Ben Bernanke thinks 8.3% unemployment rate understates labor weakness. Interesting blog post on Bernanke’s opinions, and a link in that post to another post that takes a more detailed look at the non-farm unemployment numbers. Obama may not be twisting numbers in any new way, but only the gullible consider BLS data the sacred truth.

If Michelle doesn’t want to be dragged into the political realm she probably shouldn’t make controversial political statements. Jackie Kennedy was the perfect first lady. She knew that Jack was the one who was elected and she left the politics to him. She tended to the things expected of a first lady very graciously. Hillary Clinton got more involve in politics but at least Bill didn’t whine when the opposition criticized her.

When was that? Every read the David McCullough book on John Adams? First ladies are smart women, married to smart men. President Obama was “whining”, he just said it a downside to the job. Like when are in a job interview and are asked to list your strengths and weaknesses – you feel like you need to answer both parts.

I have no problem with a first lady or first gentleman having strong opinions about things like Michelle’s opinion that we all need to stop eating junk food and eat fruits and veggies instead but then Barack shouldn’t “bemoan” Michelle being dragged into the political realm. When you give your strong opinion on things you have to expect hearing back from those who disagree with your opinion.
