Specialized clinics and hospital systems are hiring a sizeable portion of foreign trained doctors and surgeons nowadays. Their training is questionable, but they will accept a job for less than most U.S. & Canadian trained doctors. Probably because the North American doctors have better quality training, which means they have higher medical school bills and can’t accept a cut rate position. Giving the public unrestricted access to a doctor’s ENTIRE record should be the #1 item on any so-called “Patient’s Bill of Rights”. This is a no brainer, and I hope some good Minnesota and / or Wisconsin legistator will author a bill establishing this right. It will be a fight though, as I suspect that the doctors have a pretty strong lobbying presence in Madison & St. Paul. Is that “Minnesota Medical Association” their primary lobbying outfit?

Yes, it would be nice to be able to research a doctor. I know I would not have used a certain cardiologist who did nothing but lie about his greatness, brag of his exploits outside of the medical profession, make up reasons why his diagnosis’s where not incorrect, indicate that the hospitals around here are antiquated and without proper equipment, an blame me because I am not getting any better and taking nitro for the wrong reasons. All I had to do was change hospitals and boom I get a pacemaker I feel great. Guess what, I found out from my friends that he did the same to a buddy, and his girlfriends mother died on the table with him as her doctor, I am very sure it was her fault.
I am sure his record would have or should have been visible, my choice would have been different!
