Lehrke says city should stop review of charter petition
February 2, 2012 at 12:00 am in South Washington County Bulletin
Cottage Grove City Council member Derrick Lehrke questioned the city’s inspection of nearly 1,600 signatures collected by a group of Cottage Grove residents who are seeking to create a city charter Continue Reading

Of course Lehrke says stop reviewing the signatures. Typical right winger. If you don’t like the rules, change them. Just like the constitution-loving Republican state legislature. If you don’t like the rules, amend the state Constitution. SO sick of Republitards.
Hot debate. What do you think?

I agree! They had all the time they wanted and needed to collect the signatures and now he wants to rush the city. The city employees have full time jobs they need to do and then he’s adding this project to their list of things to do. Give them time to do a thorough job. It takes more time to check the records than just collect signatures.
Derrick Lehrke is so demanding that every i and t be crossed for what the city does (budget, building projects, etc.), and he insists the city not take their time to make sure his project is accurate. Hmmm….what’s he trying to hide?

What concerns me is that it takes 160 hours to verify 1350 signatures. Really? 8-1/2 signatures an hour? How tough is it to look at a registered voter list and compare names?
