too bad there’s only 3 available places to build in the whole city, I guess. Or maybe they should expand there thinking beyond those couple blocks downtown.

That’s a good point. The new hospital moved outside the downtown area. I have several acres somewhat close-by. I’d be willing to donate some of the land for a library. I could probably make the money back off of parking meters and late-fines.

The library needs to be in the same area as the schools. Out by the hospital the kids would never be able to go to the library after school. The Essentia site is within walking distance of many of the Jamestown Public Schools and needs to stay that way. Unless someone is willing to bus the kids to and from the library out in the middle of nowhere!

Honestly, when was the last time anyone actually went to the library? There is this thing called the internet, in fact you are using it right now! Libraries are obsolete, do the tax payers a favor and lets just close the library and not open a new one. Check and mate!

The library is a vital part of the community. There is so much that the library has to offer, and the only way that you would say that the library should be closed is if you have never spent any time there. There are several programs and events that the library offers that many people in the community would miss very much if there was no library. Yes the internet is a great place to get information, however can you actually make a craft with your own two hands on the internet? NO! Can you participate physically in a storytime that is both educational and fun? NO! Can you get tons of free books to read online if you don’t have a computer or other device to read books on? NO! My point is that yes the internet is great for some things but the library is also great for so many things, you can go to the library and get help learning how to use the new technology out there, how to download free e-books through the library on your device and participate in great activities for kids etc. The library is growing with technology and will continue to grow, there is so much the library can offer you. So maybe before you decide to close the library you should go check it out and see what you can take advantage of and possibly even learn there!
