Those repairs must be to make it last the 2 years that it will take to get the new bridge built. From the sound of it, these same repairs would be required to make it into a bike/walking bridge. I’d prefer to remove the old bridge (after the new one is built), and have a beautiful waterfront in Stillwater.

Maybe the old bridge could be sunk into the river and used as a barrier to stop asian carp.
