Several articles in various newspapers the last few days have discussed the problems associated with the oil activity. Perhaps the state officials in charge need to look at limiting the number of drilling permits being issued to slow down the oil activity and allow things to catch up. They seem to to have the same mentality as the oil industry, “drill baby drill”.

I’ve lived in Dickinson/Killdeer for the majority of my life and love North Dakota. However, with the absolute greed that has overcome this state, my husband and I are looking at leaving within the next year. I refuse to be taken advantage of anymore. I can also guarantee you that when this oil boom goes bust (they always do) and all the transient workers head back home, I will NOT be rushing back to help rebuild our economy. The state/county/city is doing nothing to help us, so why should I rush back to help them? Does anyone else find it ironic that the article discusses the greed in ND, but Shawn Kessel goes on to say his uncle is renting out 3 SINGLE bedrooms in his house for $800 dollars per room?!?! This is outrageous and needs to stop!
