This angers me big time! Last year they redid the roads were I live and this council refused to listen to people it affected at the council meeting . I should say they pretended to listen to the residents. The 7% interest rate they charged us was absolutely wrong and it is WAY more than ALL surrounding cities.

Gee I wonder why this happened? Is it because it is an election year for the Mayor and two other council members or maybe it is because the Mayor doesn’t want to be assessed this year. It is just a crime to let council make these decisions based on their own benefit..

The 7% has been a sore spot for years with who have had their streets redone. When they did our street they were going to look into the 7%. I would say that was at least five years ago. What I also find interesting was the resealing of the street for $600.000 when they knew this was coming. They resealed Indian last summer just after rebuilding.

Watch the city council meeting (it’s online at http://swctc.granicus.com/ViewPublisher.php?view_id=2). The city administrator explains the reasoning behind the interest rate, and it makes sense. They also explain the seal coating schedule and process. I found it very educational. Because 38% of that neighborhood is complaining about the process, they’re reviewing the whole process to see if it can be improved.
