Some Northland couples ramp up wedding spending as economy improves

If the nation’s economy is improving, one measure might be the difference between a violin solo and a string quartet at a wedding. In recent years engaged couples “were hiring solo violin instead of quartet, or duo instead of quartet,” musician Michelle Gribbon said. “Now almost every booking is quartet again.”
