Local woman declares candidacy for state Assembly
January 6, 2012 at 1:47 pm in River Falls Journal
River Falls resident Diane Odeen confirmed late Friday, Jan. 6, that she will run in this fall’s Wisconsin Assembly election to represent District 30. A Democrat, Odeen said she began to consider the idea after a friend suggested she run for the seat currently held by Hudson-based Republican Dean Knudson. Continue Reading

Shelly Moore clone, except she’s a more dangerous ultra liberal. Instead of a teacher with a theatrical background, this one’s a lawyer with the firm of Howe, Dewey, Cheatem & Wynn. VERY, VERY STRONG ties to State unions.

Links to these strong allegations, please?
A lot of people make up crap on the internets. I’m sure you’re one of the upstanding ones who doesn’t do that, though.

Quote from the article,
“Odeen said she began to consider the idea after a friend suggested she run for the seat currently held by Hudson-based Republican Dean Knudson…”
Does this mean that she acts on just “suggestions”? If so, I’ll have one of her friends suggest that she stop her efforts.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Diane Odeen. She’s smart, funny and cares about her community. Diane would represent ALL constituents well! So glad to hear she’s running!

Just what we don’t need…another lawyer in the legislature.

A person who spent three years in school learning all about laws and has a professional job working with the intricate details of laws… Nah…it doesn’t make ANY sense for those people to get elected to make laws. Seriously, at least have an argument that makes a little sense. I’ll give it to you though… the gut reactions like, “Lawyers aer evil!!1!” will get you pretty far with dumb crowds.

Lawyers are good at suing people and generally driving costs of a large number of things UP. Look at the cozt of medical malpractice and you will have a starting point for understanding the high costs of medical care.

Here’s a thought for you Nay sayers. Legislators write laws, so you think someone who KNOWS the law is a bad candidate? Right, better to have a Veterinarian who with an ultra libertarian streak. Our current Assemblyman’s radical agenda is NOT what WIS needs. I welcome Diane Odeen’s candidacy. Let’s get Wisconsin back on track to Wisconsin values of fairness and progress. We don’t need our legislators leading us back to the 1890s!

Mr. America:
Dean is leading us into the future.
Balanced Budget!
Lower Taxes!
Smaller Government!
This may sound radical to you BUT I’m not at the trough like you must be.
We learned last year that the people of this district don’t buy into the public union philosophy. We can’t afford it.

Ms. Odeen has her work cut out for her if she wants to get anywhere near the understanding of how government works at all levels that Dr. Knudson has. Just because you spend time in a courtroom trying to argue your way around existing laws doesn’t mean you have a clue about how they are made. I appreciate having someone who has run their own business and has served in local government represent us. He understands the impact that state government has on local govt. He also knows how jobs are created and what gets in the way of job creation.
I am wondering if she is so interested in being ‘part of the solution’ why she hasn’t been involved in other local government? Does she just have the big lawyer money behind her, like the teacher union money behind Shelly Moore? And didn’t this gal proudly say she was the first one to sign Shelly’s papers? No, not radical at all.
