does the mom have diabetes? Usualy big babies are born to diabetic mothers

Read the article again. It clearly stated that the mother had gestational diabetes.
But even with GD, a mother can take insulin and stop a baby from being this large. My wife had GD with two pregnancies and the largest baby was 6.5 pounds delivered at full term.
