Jim Kleinsasser has spent 13 seasons’ worth of Sundays flattening opponents with pancake blocks and paving the way for some of the game’s great running backs. This Sunday will be his last. Continue Reading

I hope ESPN & Fox Sports picks up on this. Sunday’s pre-game shows could be very emotional for Kleinsasser and company. Over the years, John Madden, Mike Ditka and about every football announcer has noticed and appreciated big Jim. My family has been both a UND fan and NDSU fan over the years. Jim Kleinsasser has Michael Jordan status in our house. I’m so proud of this young man.

I kinda wanna say “say it ain’t so Kleinsasser”. The greedy part of me feared this day would come but didn’t want it to happen. He is one of the last remnants of a college era in my mind that was truly fun to watch and be part of. I enjoyed Division II sports with our local kids from ND and Minn way more than this so called Division I crap we have now. It was way more fun to watch Kleinsasser run over Bison players than anybody we play now because I felt a connection to the area. There was nothing better than the old “NCC” conference and its members like SD,SDSU,NDSU, and the like. But I don’t blame Mr.Kleinsasser for moving on with his life while still healthy,I’m glad he played this long and stayed a Viking his whole career.Thank you and good luck!
