Fargo bishop says Nazism, communism stronger than ever

The leader of the Fargo Catholic Diocese says the effects of Nazism, communism and atheism are stronger now than they were 40 years ago. Bishop Samuel Aquila says his words are meant to be strong. He says when a government embraces atheism that religious rights are going to be violated. Continue Reading

Dishonest bigotry at Christmas — and from a leader in a church that has oceans of blood on its hands over two milenia!
Like religions, nazism and communism are dogmas (aka “faiths”), and as such , they have to be defended. Challnging the faith, or giving it up is known as heresy and apostacy — and the penalties are often dire — whether the dogma is religious or political.
To set the good (but dishonest and bigoted) bishop straight, Nazism was aided and abetted by catholicism (and the Lutherans) as it rose to power and started the holocaust. many revisionists have tried to divert from that historical reality, but they are only really believed by those who prefer faith to facts.
Stalin used the Orthodox church when it suited him, but in his particularly toxic version of marxism, he, Marx and lenin were the holy trinity — and woe betide anybody who questioned that dogma!
As for the ACLU, they defend BOTH religious clauses of the first amendment quite regularly. Aquila must be miffed that the government is not quite so willing lately to give out our (taxpayer) money for his religious agenda — which regularly obstructs peoples human rights — especially if they are gay or female.
In the spirit of the season I wish the bishop well. If he posts his address I’ll send him Sean Faircloth’s new book (“Attack of the Theocrats”) as a holiday present.
Whatever tradition you are celebrating, Happy Holidays to all!

Damn right. The two biggest threats to The Ordinary Citizen over the past several thousand years are Organized Religion and Big Government. Both attack the freedom of the citizens; and when Organized Religion and Big Government were aligned, the people suffered mightily.
Thus the importance of the “separation of church and state”; and the importance of an armed population.
In recent times, the third menace to society is the rise to power of Big Business; but that’s a subject for another time.

The dishonest bigotry is the attempts to force Catholics to violate their conscience.

As far as the leadership of the catholic church goes, putting “conscience” in the same sentence is an oxymoron.

Sort of like “atheism” and “compassion?”
